Listen in as Anthony & Coach Benson reminisce about their friendship, playing together back in the day, Coach Benson's take on youth sports, recruiting at the D1 level, and a behind the scenes look at what life is like as a head coach. 
 
BENSON’S COACHING EXPERIENCE
2022-current: Providence (Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator)
 
2021-22: Maryland (Assistant Coach / Offensive Coordinator): 33-1 overall record during Benson’s two seasons in College Park, earning two Big Ten titles and made back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Championship Game, winning 1 NCAA National Championship.
 
2007-20: Johns Hopkins (Assistant Coach / Offensive Coordinator): 11 NCAA appearances, 8 quarterfinal bids, 3 final fours, 2 national championship games, winning 1 National Championship, coached 37 All-Americans during his tenure.
 
2006: Loyola (Assistant Coach / Offensive Coordinator): led the nation in extra-man offense with 24 goals on 43 attempts (.558).
 
2004-05: UMBC (Assistant Coach / Offensive Coordinator): helped the Retrievers rank among the national leaders in extra-man offense.
 
BENSON’S PLAYING EXPERIENCE
3x All-America selection at Hopkins (2000-03), ranked 6th all-time in goals scored (124) and 14th in career points (167). He is one of just two players in school history to lead the team in goals four-straight years and helped the Blue Jays to four-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, three trips to the final four and one national runner-up finish (2003). Benson is one of just four players in program history to score 25+ goals in each of his four seasons.

Michelle is a licensed Clinical Psychologist, owner of The Center for Trauma, Stress, & Anxiety, CTSA & Get Centered Wellness, who credits her experience as an athlete for her journey as a therapist and mental health resource for the community today. Listen is as Michelle shares her story as a swimmer from high school, being recruited to swim D1, transferring to D3, and how her coaches made an impact on her experiences. Buckle up. It's a roller coaster ride of emotions and one we are so thankful Michelle was able to take us on.

The Coaches

Anthony is a sports enthusiast. You will find him passionately cheering on the Baltimore Orioles, Ravens, and the Calvert Hall Cardinals. You will also find Anthony on the sideline coaching his own kid's teams. He is on many different boards trying to help strengthen his community wherever he can. His ultimate goal is to raise good humans.

Nikki is also a sports enthusiast cheering on her home teams (O's, Ravens, Maryland Terps) but who also just really appreciates a good game, no matter the sport.  You'll also find her on the sideline coaching her own kids sports but Nikki also coaches teams her kids are not a part of ranging from day care to college. Nikki owns her own mindset coaching business for athletes, coaches, organizations to help give them strength for their journey.

Nikki and Anthony are friends with different backgrounds coming together to shine a light on a topic or two each podcast, with space for guests, to share their experience.  The goal is to provide a space within the sports world to come together and help each other in the hard.
