In this episode of Coaching Up, Anthony & Nikki catch up on life happenings as we transition from fall to winter. Anthony is calling the basketball games at Calvert Hall this winter, announcing the pep rally as well, all while coming back from battling the flu. Nikki talks about Nolan's switch to indoor track this winter and Celia's soccer team winning the Fallston Cup. We'll talk about that and how the soccer tournaments handled the refereeing assignments this weekend as well.

In this episode, we are honored to have Amanda & Derrick Snyder as our guests to speak about the loss of their son Evan Snyder. Evan was a sophomore in high school when he passed away in June of 2023. Listen in as Amanda & Derrick discuss the impact of the sports community in their journey of grief.
Grief is such a unique experience, and one that Amanda tells us is completely different from person to person. This episode highlights their family's experience with the hopes that we can learn from and be better because of it. Holding space for each other and extending grace. A community who shows up.

Christie's story is one of resilience, confidence, and, at times, complete heart break. Coach Nikki talks about her summer trip to Italy and how her Dad passed away while her family was gone on vacation. The book explores, in detail, the idea that we tend to tie happiness into other people's behaviors, thoughts, and feelings. This theory allows us to identify when and why it's happening and choose where to give our power. The Let Theory can improve the way we think and directly impact our quality of life. Listen in as Anthony & Nikki talk about the power of letting them and letting us in the world of sports, parenting, and life.

The Coaches
Anthony is a sports enthusiast. You will find him passionately cheering on the Baltimore Orioles, Ravens, and the Calvert Hall Cardinals. You will also find Anthony on the sideline coaching his own kid's teams. He is on many different boards trying to help strengthen his community wherever he can. His ultimate goal is to raise good humans.
Nikki is also a sports enthusiast cheering on her home teams (O's, Ravens, Maryland Terps) but who also just really appreciates a good game, no matter the sport. You'll also find her on the sideline coaching her own kids sports but Nikki also coaches teams her kids are not a part of ranging from day care to college. Nikki owns her own mindset coaching business for athletes, coaches, organizations to help give them strength for their journey.
Nikki and Anthony are friends with different backgrounds coming together to shine a light on a topic or two each podcast, with space for guests, to share their experience. The goal is to provide a space within the sports world to come together and help each other in the hard.
